2014年洋書多読のまとめ

2014年度の洋書多読目標は50冊。オーディオブックで聞いた本と目で読んだ本を合わせ、56冊読むことが出来ました٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶。

ページ数では25802ページなので、1日平均70ページほど。多読を始めた2006年から通算すると、語数では3914万7452語。今年一年で785万6499語読んだ事になります。一年で785万語!?  何かの計算間違いかと思い、何度も計算しなおしたのですが、1冊の平均が13万語ほどで56冊なので、桁が間違っているということはないはず。。。。多読800万語に達するまでに2006年1月〜2011年３月までかかったことを考えると、オーディオブックにシフトしてから目の疲労を気にせず本をリスニング出来るようになったので、加速度的に語数が増えてきたようです。

今年読んだ本の中で面白かったのは、ファンタジー系ではThe Warded Man: Book One of The Demon Cycle (The Demon Cycle Series)。ミステリーでは、Gone Girl: A Novel、サイエンス・フィクションでは、The Martian: A Novel。ノンフィクションでは、Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trailでした。Wildは、筆者がお母さんを亡くしたことで精神不安定になる過程にシンクロしてしまって、号泣してしまいました。うちの母は生きているのに。。。自分探し系が苦手な人には全然ダメかもしれませんが、自分はこれからどうしたらいいか迷っている人、１人になって考えたい人などにはぴったりハマる本だと思います。
