ジュリー先生のこのページ、全て自分で作られたと聞いて驚きました。Webサービスを使っているのではなく、全部自分でタグを打ち込んでフォルダごとサーバーにアップロードしているようです。地元のコミュニティセンターみたいなところでHP作成の基礎を習い、オンラインで英会話スクールを立ち上げると決めてからほんの1ヶ月あまりで創り上げたそうです。うちの母と同じ年ということを考えると、ただただ感心してしまいました。
ジュリー先生は教え方が上手なのはもちろんですが、人柄もよく、安心して何でも話せてしまう雰囲気を持ってらっしゃいます。この3年間、特に宣伝をしていないのにもかかわらず、口コミだけで噂が広まり、ジュリー先生枠は全て埋まってしまいました。先月から新しい先生も加わり、今後さらに発展していくことと思います。
生徒側の要望にフレキシブルに対応してくださるので、私は英語プレゼン前の原稿添削、発音確認、プレゼン練習などで本当にお世話になりました。感謝してもしきれませんが、できる限りの気持ちを伝えたかったので、メールを書きました。こういう時に自分の気持ちを余すことなく伝えることができるように、もっと英語を使いこなせるようになりたい。
I’m really happy to celebrate ELE’s 3rd birthday. When you announced your resignation from LingQ three years ago, I was at a loss for words. Although I decided to continue studying with you at once, I missed you at LingQ.
I admire your courage in starting a new business on your own, especially creating the website by yourself. Considering the fact that you are the same age as my mother, I couldn’t help but wonder how much effort it took to acquire new skills.
You are attentive to your students, reliable, and a good adviser, as well as a good teacher. No wonder your school is booming, even though you didn’t advertise it. When I mention a new service to my friends, I pay extra attention to whether it is really worthwhile introducing. You have never betrayed our expectations, and that’s one of the reasons you have as many students as you can have by word of mouth. I realized the immense value of trust between people.
I can’t thank you enough for helping me with many projects. If I hadn’t studied English, I would have had a different life. I started studying English without a particular reason, however, I started a PhD course to make use of my English, which opened up the next opportunities, such as giving presentations in international conferences and helping my colleagues with their English. I hope there will be more opportunities to come, and we can enjoy new possibilities with you.
I’m looking forward to celebrating the 4th ELE birthday, and many more to come. You should be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the oldest online tutors in 30 years’ time. Please take care, and be happy for all of us!
